“Do you know where I can get $22.00?” asked a young lady. Let me begin at the first of this true story. I am President of the Sulphur Springs Golden “K” Kiwanis Club. Our club buys a new truck and gives it away the week before Christmas each year. This is our major fund raiser for the year. We park the new truck on the square downtown and take donations of $25.00 per ticket for about 60 days each year. Now this young lady who had worked at a convenience store where I buy gas approached me as I am sitting on back of the New G M C Sierra truck. She asked me where she could get $22.00 to finish paying her light bill. She said she had part of the money but lacked $22.00 and the electric company refused to turn her electricity back on. “I just got a good job in Tyler and I will not get paid until next Friday”, she said. Having Been a Pastor for many years, I immediately pointed to First Baptist Church across the square. She said, “I have already been there and they are out of funds but still had some food supplies”. Well I said, “there  is the Ministerial Alliance etc. as I named many of the other places in town to go for help.” She said that she had been to all those places and that none of them could help with the $22.00 she needed. Later that day, I heard on the news that all the places that give aid to the needy were totally bankrupt. Most of the shelves were almost empty and their storage rooms were depleted. Our Noon Kiwanis Club was having trouble getting enough Food baskets for the needy families for their Christmas Project. This seemed to be the story in many places across the United States. Our own Fund Raiser received a net donations of only $610 this year. Is our economy so bad that honest working people who need a little bit of help can’t find help because our Government has TAXED us to death, Killed thousands of small businesses in the last 2 years, put thousands of people out of work,  and purposefully imposed strong measures to insure that the people will fail?

The second true story that I experienced was seeking the Parents and Teacher’s organization (PTA or PTO) to help our Kiwanis Project. My thought was that since our club helps the kids in all 7 of our Schools in Hopkins County through scholarships and money for kids who need school supplies such as pencils, paper etc., why not go to the President of the PTA or PTO to get them to help with our Fund Raiser. I thought that this was a great idea. I went to the High School and asked the name of the PTA president. I immediately was told that our High School here in Sulphur Springs has NO PTA or PTO. My question was, who represents our kids, if there are no Parents organizations in place. You know, I was told that the High School has not had one in years. So, I proceeded to check out the surrounding schools and most of them had a PTO but a Teacher was in charge of it. One of our members knew one of the teachers in one of our area schools and ask her to take some of our Tickets to her School and get donations for our Fund Raiser. This sounded good until the Teacher brought back the tickets and said that she was’nt allowed by the School to do it. So, I began to ask around and one of the Teachers told me that the Parents could not get involved because of the high risk of Liability. You mean that the parents can’t monitor their kids education through an organization of Parents at our public schools. Then, my question to myself was then who does represent our kids? That only leaves our Government who can’t manage our country.

This kid in Arizona wrote a POEM about schools etc. I received this as e-mail that was forwarded to me indirectly from Howard Gee.

My conclusion is that we as Americans have turned over the education of our kids to an unstable Government headed now by Obama. As we all know, we the American People let the Atheists and Socialist take Prayer and The Bible out of Schools years ago because, “We The People”, did nothing. We have given almost all of our rights to the State and Federal Government. Government is getting bigger and our rights are decreasing. We have done very little to stop the advancing Democratic Socialist Agenda led by our President. Now, Fox News is taking a pole of those who want to take the American Flag out of our Schools. You must remember that this is our Flag and it belongs to “We The People”.  Now, we have to sort out the Liberal Republicans and see to it that they don’t get elected again. We must not let our current led Republicans in Congress cave in to a Socialist leader like

Obama. We can’t afford to let the Democratic Socialist in Washington raise our National Debt any higher because we cannot afford it. It is going impose such a large National TAX debt on our Kids and our grand kids that they may never recover from it. 
 

My third story is a little different. I was visiting with a Chief Appraiser, in another County, as I work in many Counties. This Chief Appraiser of a County Appraisal office began telling me that no matter how many hours they worked, that the State or Government kept on adding so many new requirements to the Chief Appraisers job description that the job could not get done. I was told that many Chief Appraisers couldn’t meet the new demands even though they have been Chief Appraisers for 20 years or more. They could not do the job since so many new requirements had been mandated. This Chief Appraiser said that it was like the State and the Federal Government wanted to take us over. I am aware now that the State Authorities are planning to Consolidate the Appraisal Districts. This means that we could have our local Tax Appraisal District centered somewhere like Longview, Tyler, or Greenville etc. Then our property would probably be taxed on the average of all the combined Counties. This sounds like SOCIALISM to me. I am calling it Progressive Socialism. 

I am happy to say that there is a ray of hope with our U. S. and State Congress taking some action now. But, that is not helping pay the current bill for Food and Gas as our Government is still allowing the Companies to continue PRICE GOUGING by purposefully raising our  FOOD and  Gas prices. It seems that there is PRICE GOUGING and almost open BRIBERY going on that has been accelerated with the Obama Administration. If that is not enough, there is the Liability imposed on the parents to keep them from controlling the Education of their children. This forces us to depend on the Government to control the education of our kids. Then I am compelled to conclude that the State and Federal Government will continue to run our lives by putting our property in a situation that they can control and continue to Tax us to death. It seem that our State and Federal Government is out to get us. I am encouraged by our Conservative Congress both State and Federal. We must monitor their progress carefully because there is no relief, yet, from the High Food and Gas prices, the Open and Purposeful PRICE GOUGING, the purposeful destruction of thousands of small businesses and the thousands of people that are unemployed. I am rooting for Ralph Hall, our 4th District Congressman and others who will stand and fight for our rights. There has been so much open Bribery in the White House that needs to be accounted for in a court of law. See Article 2, Section 4 of the Constitution “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”.

Everyone is talking about the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) PARTY which really surfaced in 2010. This is definitely a grassroots movement. God is stirring up people to take action and get involved before it’s too late. A few weeks ago an 81 year old elderly christian man surfaced at the Christian TEA Party. He said I am scared to death of the direction that our country is going and I am going to do all that I can to stay informed by being involved and voting  for conservatives.

The Tea Party and the The TEA Party Patriots are basically the same. They have basically teamed up with other Conservatives to support the election of all Conservative in all elected positions, both locally and nationally. Most of these happen to be Conservative that  embrace the platform of the Conservative views of the Republican Party. Then, all conservatives from any party can be TEA Party members as well. There is some differences between the TEA parties and it’s based on the PURITY TEST. The question arises as how much of the Conservative position one has to believe to be a Conservative.

Doug Morris, President of The Lamar County TEA Party said, “The Lamar County TEA Party wishes to stay wholly secular and political in nature. We believe that if you are a Conservative, you will have Judeo-Christian values and follow a conservative path in life and decision making. Our group follows the Reagan theory that if you believe 8 out of 10 points of the Purity Test or the Tea Party Patriots Constitution then you are a friend to the Conservative agenda. We do not use Christian attached to our platform to avoid conflict with those who hold a secular lifestyle while maintaining conservative values, so doing also separates them by name from The Christian TEA Party and The Christian County Patriots but NOT Judeo-Christian principals and values”. This is their Mission Statement and Philosophy.:

3.      We should be able to own a gun to protect ourselves, our families and our property

4.      Our Government should protect it’s citizens from foreign enemies while allowing American Citizens the freedom to pursue life, liberty and happiness

      5.   Government should practice strict fiscal responsibility

            and allow individuals to keep more of the money

            they earn                                            

       6.  The best Government is that which governs the least 

 The Republican ‘Purity Test’

A group of conservatives on the Republic National Committee are circulating a document they call a RNC Resolution on Reagan’s Unity Principle for Support of Candidates and what others are calling a”purity test.”

The idea that Republican candidates would support at least eight out of the ten public policy positions expressed in the “RNC Resolution on Reagan’s Unity Principle for Support of Candidates” or “purity test” or risk being denied campaign funding and support from the Republican National Committee

Democrats, who have seen a steady slippage of independents from their party, have been quick to try to use the “purity test” to claim that the Republican Party is hostile to independents and centrists. The problem is that the policy positions expressed in the document are not exactly out of the mainstream.

They are:

“(1) We support smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s ‘stimulus’ bill;
“(2) We support market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run healthcare;
“(3) We support market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;
“(4) We support workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check;
“(5) We support legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
“(6) We support victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
“(7) We support containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat;
“(8) We support retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
“(9) We support protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing, denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and
“(10) We support the right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership; and be further.”

Ruth Fennell summed up the relationship between the TEA Party/TEA Party Patriots and the Republican Party in recent article “Reflections from the Front Line“,

One week later, …the initial excitement has died down, and this is my reflections from the front line and lessons learned for the next time…

Yes, there was a “wave” but not every Republican across the country won, not every Tea Party supported candidate won. So what made our successes happen? I had just finished three months as a Field Director for a local Republican Party office in Arizona where ALL of our candidates in the county won, despite a “two Democrats for every Republican registered voter” disadvantage. How were we able to accomplish this?

Well, first of all, our candidates were strong, Constitutionally-based, fiscally conservative competitors with a clear difference between the Republican candidates and the Democrat candidates. They worked hard and even when their opponents went dirt’s they sided above the fray and focused on the Issues.

Second, the local Tea Party offered multiple, neutral forums to the general public where all the candidates were offered the opportunity to present their views and connect with voters. Although only one Democrat candidate attended, it was because the rest of them made a conscious choice not to attend the unbiased, independent venue or even reach out to the Tea Party members.

There were frequent debates within the Tea Party about officially “endorsing” any candidates. And, while ultimately, there was no “formal” endorsement of any specific candidates by the organization, members were here to assist as individuals – which they did. Tea Party members consistently volunteered to support the candidates of their choosing, by making phone calls, holding signs, and walking neighborhoods. They put their encouragement and energy into specific actions.

Third, there was a separate but equal” commitment between the local Republicans and the Tea Party to partner in events, communications, etc. whenever possible and appropriate. The bottom line goal of electing solid conservative, Constitutional-focused candidates was always kept foremost in mind.

Finally, there were concrete steps taken jointly to keep the voting process clean and minimize any potential voter fraud. It was a common consensus in the community that the Democrats in the area brought in union members to ”help” and had a “well-oiled machine” for bringing in votes, often at the last minute. Members who were knowledgeable about “word of mouth” reports of possible “indiscretions” in the past were utilized to visibly watch the comings and goings, quietly observe the voters coming in, (when necessary) take pictures outside the legal distance limit, and use EVERY legal, appropriate method available to deter improper actions while not discouraging legal voters from exercising their Constitutional rights. Prior to the election, we had an elections attorney teach a seminar as to proper procedures within the polling location, explain to the poll watchers what to look for, and discuss the correct processes for reporting any potential violations. As a result of these actions, we believe we had minimal examples of voting fraud.

So whether it was the “Tea Party using the “Republican infrastructure” to get their choices elected or whether it was the “Republican Party using the Tea Party energy” to get their choices elected, it was a symbiotic relationship that created the positive outcome that all sides wanted.

As far as lessons learned:

1) The Tea Party and Republican Party joining forces with a focus on mutual goals can accomplish a tremendous amount. Find candidates that embody the philosophies of support for our Founding Principles, and actively unite to put the strongest candidate possible on the ballot.

2) Relationships have to be nurtured and encouraged between the groups involved, both on an organizational and member level. Whether a Tea Party, as an organization, endorses anyone will have to be determined on a situational basis. However, the Tea Party can always help to inform and educate both its members and the community at large as to the candidate’s platform; and inform and educate the candidate as to community priorities and concerns.

3) Joint partnerships between the local Republican Party and Tea Party for educational seminars, election workshops, and mutual attendance at meetings should be encouraged going forward. Plans for preparing volunteers to be poll workers and poll watchers, going into the community to teach citizens the voting process and their rights, and working with legislators to strengthen laws covering elections should be a priority. “One legal voter, One legal vote”  should become a mantra in areas of questionable tactics at the ballot box.

Bottom line, the work has just begun to restore our Country, our Constitution, and our Freedoms. I believe that Tea Party members should work within the infrastructure of the Republican Party and return the Republican Party to Constitutional priorities. Forming a “third party’ ‘will only dilute resources, time and money, away from efforts to elect the best conservative candidates possible.

Almost all of the  TEA Party / TEA Party Patriots embrace Limited Government, Inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, Strong National Defense, Defence of our Borders, Captialism that is a free market economy, Life that begins at conception, Fiscal Constitutional Government, Balanced National Budget, and the elimination of earmarks.

           TEA Party Patriots (taken from the National TEA Party) Published the following explanation of what they believe, yet there seems to enough wiggle room for a Purity Test which means that one does not have to believe 100% of all of the Conservative FiscalConstitutional doctrine to be supported by the TEA PARTY etc…..

Tea Party, Christian Conservatives Have Strong Ties

The rise of the Tea Party movement has been one of the biggest political stories of the year. Now a new study shows the strong relationships between Tea Party members and Christian conservatives.

The Tea Party movement is often heard to be about all protesting taxes and big government.

“There’s a lot of us who have a dream now, and the dream is that government get off our backs,” said Dallas Woodhouse, the North Carolina state director for Americans For Prosperity.

“The government has gotten far too big for far too long,” said Dave Smith, a spokesman for Americans For Prosperity

“Faith, hope and love are not dead in America,” said Dr. Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s niece. “Hallelujah! We still trust in God.”

However, new research shows there’s a strong overlap between Tea Party members and Christian conservatives. Dr. Robert Jones, chief executive officer of the Public Religion Research Institute, led this study.

“We found that nearly half, 47 percent, of those who say they consider themselves a part of the Tea Party movement also say they consider themselves part of the conservative Christian movement,” Jones said.

And some fiscal issues are issues of conscience as well.  For instance, Penny Nance, chief executive officer of the pro-family group Concerned Women for America, pointed out the huge federal debt is as much a moral offense as a fiscal problem.

“The fact that we have $13 trillion of debt hanging over our children and grandchildren is absolutely fiscally irresponsible and immoral,” she told CBN News.

Because of their dislike of intrusive government, the Tea Party is thought to be mostly made up of Libertarians, who usually share a “live and let live” philosophy on many social issues, but Jones disagrees.

“Among those who identify with the Tea Party, they’re actually social conservatives and not social Libertarians,” Jones said.

Yet, 63 percent of Tea Party members said abortion should be illegal in all or most cases, which is hardly a Libertarian viewpoint.

“Those people are well-rounded conservatives and they want to do something on the life issue as well,” said Tom McClusky of the Family Research Council

Eight in 10 Tea Party members call themselves Christians and 57 percent of those label themselves conservative Christians. But for all the publicity the Tea Party gets as being a major dominating factor in today’s politics, there is something important to remember:

• Just 11 percent of Americans see themselves as a part of the Tea Party movement.
• Twenty-two percent call themselves conservative Christians.

“It’s likely that the Christian conservative movement may in fact influence the Tea Party movement more than the Tea Party movement influences the Christian conservative movement, because of their relative size differences,” Jones said.

That fact suggests that the social issues so vital to so many Christians will not fade as crucial political issues.

The Christian TEA Party is Biblically oriented as 94% of Constitution was based on the Bible. The name really speaks for itself. The Core beliefs is based on the Bible and this party expects it’s  members to be active Christians. They expect to address all Candidates etc. but they will support Christian Candidates. Article I: Freedom of Religion

Whereas our First Amendment restricts Government’s interference in people’s religious liberties; no person, church, or group shall be limited in their free expression of  faith.  Christian men and Christian principles founded America and no one in government, schools, or any other entity will have the power to restrict it.  The only “wall of separation” is the restriction of government interfering with religion.

Article II: Gun Rights

The Second Amendment guarantees private citizens the right to keep and bear arms.  The federal government has no authority to restrict this right in any way. 

Article III: Limited Government

The federal government has too much power over our lives-from healthcare to the cars we drive.  The founding fathers designed separation of powers with checks and balances into the Constitution to decentralize power and preserve our liberty. A constitutional amendment requiring term limits for all publically elected officials is necessary. The Executive Branch must stop all “Executive Orders.”  Government employee salaries shall not be set by the Government, but by an independent group having no conflict of interest.  Presidents, Congressmen, Senators, and Judges must not violate the Constitution’s limit on the powers of their offices.

Article IV: Federal Spending

Unconstitutional legislation and fiscal irresponsibility have produced out-of-control deficit spending that is destroying our children’s future.  A balanced budget amendment is essential to protect our country’s fiscal health.  The IRS must be eliminated, and the current tax system replaced with a consumption or “fair tax.”

Article V: Energy

We must pursue energy options which use our own resources, without taxing the people to subsidize politically-favored groups, or enslaving us to foreign countries.  We need sensible, constitutional environmental rules-not environmentalist extremism- and the removal of impediments to the development of nuclear and other forms of energy.  We must have the freedom to drill in Anwar, off-shore, and anywhere there’s energy.

Article VI: Personal Responsibility

Government handouts in any form take from some to give to others creating dependence.  Government does not exist to provide for its citizens and the Constitution does not authorize such legalized theft.  Current federal compensation programs, including “corporate welfare,” should be phased out immediately.

Article VII: National Defense

A strong national defense is a constitutional as well as a practical necessity in this hostile world.  Our citizens and our national interests must be protected.  Terrorists should be “Harvested” for information and immediately tried in military tribunals, with no American citizen rights. All foreign subsidies must be reviewed, justified, and reduced according to our national defense interest and budget restraints.

Article VIII: Borders

Secure borders are essential to the defense of our lives, liberty, and property. Those who come to this country legally are welcome. Those who do not are breaking the law and should be treated as criminals. Amnesty is not an option for those who came here illegally.   English shall be the official language.

Article IX: Right to Life

Human life unquestionably begins at conception.  Ending the life of an unborn child via abortion is murder, is truly unconstitutional, and must be outlawed with the only exception of the life of the mother being in jeopardy.

Article X: States Rights

The Tenth Amendment states, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The federal government must return these powers and all mandates to the respective states.

Article XI:  Bureaucracy Eliminated

Whereas centralized bureaucracy in Washington DC is inefficient, whole departments must be eliminated,                  returning the power to each State, County, and City, starting with Departments of Education, Energy, and Agriculture.  All cabinet departments and staff must be reviewed and prove justification, or be sun-setted.  Obamacare must be overturned, and all “Czars” positions and their staffs eliminated.

Article XII:  Courts

Judges should interpret the law by studying the intentions of the framers of the Constitution and its amendments, and by adhering to legal precedents which are based squarely on those intentions.  No court will have authority to overturn any States’ legal referendum by the people. 

CONCLUSION:  We the people of these United States declare that we will support candidates who commit to these principles and work against those who violate them.  

THE  COUNTY  PATRIOTS

The County Patriots is best explained by Jeff Akin. Jeff is a former Radio Talk Show host in the New Boston Radio Station KLIGHT 1530 and he said, “I can only speak to the difference between the TEA Parties and Patriots in the three counties we have Patriot groups. The Miller County Patriots, Cass County Patriots, and Bowie County Patriots have this mission: to recruit, train, and help elect Christian Conservatives to all levels of government. The three groups accomplish the mission by informing, inspiring, and getting people involved. We have had some success in all three counties. In Miller County, Arkansas, we were able to help elect a new County Judge. In Cass County we were able to help State Rep. George Lavender to carry that county, the home of the incumbent. In Bowie County we have help elect a new County Judge, County Clerk, and County Treasurer as well as a Texarkana, Texas City Councilman. We like to say that our Patriot groups are where the TEA Party comes to get things done. It has been my experience that the TEA Parties in our area are great for giving people an avenue for protesting what has been taking place in our government. The TEA Parties have also provided an avenue for networking. Most if not all of our Patriots came from TEA Party connections. I can see the two working very closely together in the days and years to come.”  Jeff Akin

The Christian Fiscal Conservative County Patriots provide training opportunities for Christian candidates to be a vital candidate. The success record of the County Patriots is phenomenal, and it obvious that the Christian Conservative movement is empowered by God.

Elen Craswell writes in her article on The Biblical Basis for Christians in Politics;

“The first principle; We must understand that civil leaders are “ministers of God”  (Romans 13:3-4). This relates to the principle of ACCOUNTABILITY. The role of a civil leader is to enable government to fulfill God’s purposes. Civil leaders are doing the will of God in establishing justice and maintaining civil order. They are accountable to God for the faithful discharge of their ministry responsibilities. A person’s behavior in office is positively affected by knowing that he must answer to God.

 A second principle, is that of DESTINY, understand the reality of sovereign appointments. A civil leader serves at God’s pleasure! “…He (God) removeth kings, and setteth up kings…” (Daniel 2:21). “For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and setteth up another” (Psalm 75:6-7). God places people in leadership for His specific purposes — for His benefit, not theirs! “…Who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14). We must ask ourselves, “Why has God put me here? What does He want me to accomplish.”

 Ultimately, it is God who allows anyone to serve in any position on earth. God is Sovereign.

 LET THE   REMOVAL   PROCESS   BEGIN

The people of the United States spoke loudly on the Nov. 2 Election. I thank God for sending the message to our Washington Congress and to our State Congress as well. The TEA Party is a grass roots movement of the people. WE THE PEOPLE have spoken. Ralph Hall understands the TEA Party movement and it’s conservative stand as you can see in his recent newsletter below. I hope all our Conservative Texas Congressmen understands.  Some have pledged to support a Liberal Republican as the Texas Speaker of the House. I don’t think that those elected congressmen understand that they work for the People. The TEA parties and the conservative Republicans will hold their feet to the fire and demand accountability. I heard that one of our newly elected conservative Texas House Representative said that he was going to do what he thought was best for the people. He thought that voting for a LIBERAL Republican as Speaker of the House was best for East Texas. He didn’t get it, yet, did he? You see, he works for the people and the people have said that they want Conservatives in Office.  So what do we do? We now start the sifting process as we earmark them not to be  Reelected next time. We begin removing those LIBERAL Republicans from office. If our elected officials ran on a conservative ticket and do not vote conservative, I envision this: Phone calls all hours of the day & night, E-mails flooding their computers, Negative conversations day and night with their constituents, they will wish for a place to hide but find NONE, and finally a wife and kids that will hound him or her because of their frustration over the situation. ENOUGH SAID !!!!!!!!! I like what my friend Ralph Hall wrote in his news letter and I think you will too, if you are a conservative.  LAME DUCK SESSION OF CONGRESS BEGINS;

 GOP MAJORITY PLEDGES FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

 WASHINGTON, DC . . . As the House of Representatives reconvened this week for a lame duck session that included leadership elections, Congressman Ralph Hall (TX-4) noted, “The American people have given Republicans a tremendous opportunity to restore fiscal responsibility and make our government work more effectively.”

 “The American people sent a clear message on November 2.  They are counting on Republicans in the House to cut federal spending, create jobs, make government smaller and more efficient, and hold this Administration accountable through strong oversight,” Hall said.  “It is up to us to uphold their expectations and do better on their behalf.”

 This week the Republican Conference elected John Boehner to be Speaker of the House in the 112^th Congress, subject to his formal selection when Congress convenes in January.  Members of the Steering Committee also were elected by the Conference this week. 

“The Conference reconfirmed our Pledge to America to cut federal spending, create jobs, and restore sound economic policies,” Hall said.  “These steps are vital to getting our country moving in the right direction and will be the first order of business when the House convenes in January with Republicans in charge.”

“House Republicans also joined Senate Republicans in adopting an earmark ban for the 112^th Congress,” Hall said.  “The earmark ban shows the American people that we are listening and that we are serious about ending business as usual in Washington.”

 “We also need to extend the Bush tax cuts to help families and businesses through this recession,” Hall noted. “These tax cuts will help stimulate the economy and provide a measure of certainty in what has been an uncertain economic environment.”

 “We have much work to do on behalf of the American people, and I look forward to the opportunity to advance sound economic reforms on behalf of my district and our country.”

Dear Pastors and Church Members;

     In April of 1770, James Ireland a Baptist Minister, spent 5 months in Jail for preaching the Gospel. The Culpepper County, Virginia Jail was a bleak place where torture, abuse, and insults were hurled toward the Preacher. Officers took him into custody at an outdoor service as he was having the closing prayer. His crime was Preaching, that is, conducting a worship service without authority from the State Church of Virginia. Following a trial at which he was not allowed to make a defense, Ireland was imprisoned. Ireland said that he and others expressed sympathy for his cause and were repeatedly threatened and persecuted. There were at least two attempts n his life while imprisoned. The first was an attempt to blow up his cell with gunpowder. Ireland said that the explosion, set off by night, made a lot of noise. It did some damage to his cell but he was unharmed. Another attempt was when the Jailer and the Doctor attempted to poison him. The Jailer and the Doctor admitted it. Another doctor examined him and confirmed that he had been poisoned.

     Ireland listed some of the abuses inflicted on him;

1.                 Burned pepper and brimstone and blew smoke into his cell. He pressed his mouth to cracks in his cell to escape suffocation.

2.                 When he attempted to preach to crowds gathered outside his cell window, horses were ridden in the groups and listeners were trampled, threatened, and beaten.

3.                 Ireland’s friends and supporters were charged four shillings and eight pence each to visit the preacher.

4.                 They put drunken rowdies into his cell.

In spite of the persecution, Ireland wrote letters from his cell which he called. “From My Palace In Culpepper,” Friends supplied him with firewood, food and water.

     We have not really experienced Religious Persecution in America. I have never been really persecuted for Preaching. I have never been persecuted for being a Christian like James Ireland and  his followers. This is hard for me to comprehend such acts against Christians in America.

     Another time Ireland was preaching when the State officials broke up the meeting. They threatened the followers with jail if they didn’t leave. The officials said,” stand with us to show that you are ready to comply with the law, and no charges will be made.” In reply the Baptists said, “we have heard nothing preached here but the Gospel of Christ, and that if we don’t have enough money to pay our fines we would go to jail”.

     I don’t know how you feel about the current imposition on our freedoms, today, but it looks like history is beginning  to repeat itself. The fight for Religious Freedom and our First Amendment rights have begun again. Where do you stand? Will you stand with Jesus or will you deny Him. How do you feel about going to Jail for being a Christian. Congress passed a law last year called the “HATE CRIME” which limits what you can say publicly about gays, homosexuals and other thing which are spoken of plainly in the Bible. Now, if you can’t preach whats in the Bible, is’n that a violation of your First Amendment Rights to the Constitution.

    I am really proud of Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) who sponsored “Pulpit Freedom Sunday” September 26, 2010. Nearly 100 Pastors of approximately 370,000 Pastors in America took a stand for Religious Freedom. They are openly challenging IRS to take them to court. David Barton, founder and president of WALLBUILDERS, believes that it is necessary  to stand and speak up to prove that IRS is violating their First Amendment Rights.

     Rev.  Cory Gordon of Cornerstone World Outreach, said, “We’re tired of the hypocrisy of these people because they desire to ensconce…and frankly they’re are doing it…secular humanism (AS) the new state religion of the United States of America in violation of the original intent of the First Amendment.”

     Most people think that the battle for our First Amendment Rights has already been fought after the Declaration of Independence and that there is no need to worry. We are all guilty of taking our Constitution and The Bill Of Rights for granted thinking that they cannot be taken away from us. Since 1947, our pastors and Christian Laymen have done very little to fight to maintain our Freedom. I am thankful to God that HE has raised up about 100 pastors to challenge this hideous attack on our First Amendment Rights, aren’t you?

Dear Pastor and Church;

     Issac Backus was a leading Baptist preacher during the era of the American Revolution who campaigned against state established churches. He served on a delegation from Massachusetts which ratified the U. S. Constitution in 1788. He strongly believed that the State should not interfere with the Church.

     “All America is alarmed by the TEA TAX “ said Issac Backus in 1774, in his forthright letter to the Massachusetts Congress. “Though, if they please, they can avoid it by not buying the Tea; but we have no such liberty. We must either pay the little tax, or else your people appear, even in this time of extremity, determined to lay the great one upon us.”  Backus referred to the Clergy Tax which required that Baptists contribute to the support of the State church Ministers. Baptist suffered persecution for many years because of the Tax and were repeatedly unsuccessful in efforts to have it repealed.

     Backus said “these lines are written to let you know that Baptists will not pay the Clergy Tax, not only under your principle of Taxation without representation but because we dare not render homage to any earthly power which we are convicted belongs only to God.” He said, “If you want to know what we ask of Massachusetts authorities, only allow us freely to enjoy the Religious liberty that they do in Boston. We ask no more.” The Baptist leader said. “Must we be blamed for not lying still, “ he demanded in a letter to the Massachusetts Congress, “and thus let our countryman trample upon our rights and deny us that very liberty that they are ready to take to arms to defend for themselves?”

     A study of American history will show that The Ministers of the State Churches were paid by a Tobacco Tax until tobacco escalated in sales and the Church Clergy was getting paid to much. The State then took over the Tobacco Tax and gave the ministers a salary. This happened in America, the 13 Colonies as we know them. We did not have Religious freedom when our Constitution was first adopted.

     We need men of God, Ministers and dedicated laymen, to stand today and proclaim that we are taxed not by Taxation without representation, but taxed with INADEQUATE representation in our Government. We misunderstand the principle of the Separation of Church and State that we have been taught over the years. It was never meant for the Church to stay out of Politics but that the State could Never control the Churches. If you study the history, it will show that the U. S. House of Representatives and Senate were filled with Christians. Our Ministers of God and our dedicated Christian laymen must lead the way in establishing Conservative Christian leaders back into our Government lest we lose to a Socialized Government that will destroy every principle of decency left in America. We must arm ourselves with the most powerful weapons that we have, that is prayer, Biblical principals, and THE VOTE. Conservative Christians must be elected to our State and Federal offices. We the People have the power to VOTE Conservatives into office, if we will use it. We must use all the power at our disposal to repel this vicious attack on our freedom.

     W. A. Criswell said, ”The commitment to religious liberty and the consequent belief in the separation of the institutions of the Church and the State need not, however, imply that Religious views should not inform Political issues. Religious liberty requires an absolute separation of the institution of the Church and the State…The Christian not only has the right, but also the duty to bring his or her Religious convictions to bear upon the Political issues of the day.”

  Dear Pastor and Church;

      Brigadier General Peter Muhlenberg was an officer under George Washington whose statue is in the White House today. In 1775, he was authorized by George Washington to raise an army and command what we know today as the 8^th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Army. On Jan 21, 1776, in the Anglican Church of Woodstock, Virginia, the Reverend Peter Muhlenberg took his sermon text from Ecclesiastes 3 which starts “To everything there is a season…” and the 8^th verse …”a time of war and a time of peace”. Then he declared “and this is the time of war,” as he removed his robe to reveal his Colonel’s Uniform. He led 300 volunteers to join Washington and later rose to the rank of Brigadier General.

     As a Minister myself, I find it very interesting that his brother Frederick, also a Minister of the Gospel and later, the First Speaker of the U S House of Representatives–did not approve of his brother Peter going into the army. Many Ministers today today feel the same way. Frederick didn’t think that it was right for a Minister to be involved Politics and Warfare… that is, until he watched the British burn down his church. Frederick then changed his mind and immediately joined in the fight.

     I share that story with you and everyone who reads this letter to ask the question, “are you the Pastor and we the people going to wait until the anti-God, Socialistic Liberals take away all our rights and privileges that the Constitution and Bill of Right guarantee us? Are we going to stand and watch them burn our churches before we declare that it is time to fight? Isn’t it time that our Ministers of God take a stand, TODAY, and lead their congregations to defeat the attack of the enemy on our First Amendment religious freedom rights? Remember that it was only last year that the Government passed the Hate Crime Bill that restricts what the Pastors can say about Homosexuals etc. It was several years ago that we let those same people take prayer and Bibles out of school.

     I ask you to exercise your right BY LAW to endorse Christian Conservative Candidates like ERWIN CAIN  for Texas House of Representatives and RALPH HALL for the United States House of Representatives.

     One more favor, could I have 5 to 10 minutes at some church service to distribute Godly Election literature to inform the people what the Churches can and can’t do legally, and then be available to answer questions afterwards?

     Peter Muhlenberg said, “If you do not choose to be involved, if you do not fight to protect your liberties, there will soon be no liberties to protect!”

     WE THE PEOPLE of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure Domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States. This is the preamble that I memorized as a young boy in public school. Are we the people that gave God the BOOT out of our Government? I wonder because if we look at little bit of history, we will find that all of us are guilty because we did not stand up for our Constitutional rights. Now, we are going to have to fight harder than ever to keep the few Liberties that we now have. One of those is the privilege and duty to VOTE. Let review a little history and see how we have done.

     “Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence on Thee. We beg Thy blessings upon us and our parents and our teachers and our country. Amen.” was the prayer that the Supreme Court banished in 1947. Then in 1963, the Supreme Court outlawed Bible reading in our public schools. They said reading the Bible in the school system was unconstitutional. The Supreme Court said, “If portions of the New Testament were read without explanation, it could be psychological harmful to children.”

     The Bible was quoted @ 94% of the time by those who wrote our Constitution. However, in 1965 the Courts said that it was unconstitutional for a student in the public school cafeteria to BOW HIS or HER HEAD IN PRAYER for their food.

     Then, in 1980 there was a Court case, Stone vs Graham, that outlawed the 10 Commandments in our public schools. The Supreme Court said, “If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments were to have any effect at all, it would be to induce school children to READ THEM. And if they read them, meditated upon them, and perhaps venerated and observed them, this is not a permissible objective.

      The list of WE THE PEOPLE’S failures is evident today. It’s No wonder that the Government has taken away so many of our rights as they perceive us as spineless and weak. From 1947 to 2009, we did very little to protect the most precious document that insures us our liberty which is the Constitution and the Bill of Right. The most recent movement that I have observed is The TEA Party. We the people have an opportunity to take back our country by exercising our right to vote for Conservative Christians Candidates. I think we will see many small TEA parties popping up this next Year. We have not seen the real impact of the TEA party. For example, an elderly friend of mine surfaced at a TEA Party recently. He said that he is scared of the direction that our country has taken and he wants to do something about it before it’s too late. Don’t you think that is time that we all got involved and take back our country. The days of early voting is a good time to begin by VOTING for a Christian Conservative.

Charles Finney, who had Women Pray in church, Revolutionized Church Invitations, Prayed for people by name publicly and was a great evangelist in The Second Great Awakening in America. The church must take right ground in regard to politics. Do not suppose, now, that I am going to preach a political sermon, or that I wish to have you join and get up a Christian party in politics. No, I do not believe in that. But the time has come that Christians must vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics, or the Lord will curse them. They must be honest men themselves, and instead of voting for a man because he belongs to their party, Bank or Anti-Bank, Jackson, or Anti-Jackson, they must find out whether he is honest and upright, and fit to be trusted. They must let the world see that the church will uphold no man in office, who is known to be a knave, or an adulterer, or a Sabbath-breaker, or a gambler, or a drunkard. Such is the spread of intelligence and the facility of communication in our country, that every man can know for whom he gives his vote. And if he will give his vote only for honest men, the country will be obliged to have upright rulers. All parties will be compelled to put up honest men as candidates. Christians have been exceedingly guilty in this matter. But the time has come when they must act differently, or God will curse the nation, and withdraw his spirit. As on the subject of slavery and temperance, so on this subject, the church must act right or the country will be ruined.

God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the church will take right ground.

 Politics are a part of religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God. It seems sometimes as if the foundations of the nation were becoming rotten, and Christians seem to act as if they thought God did not see what they do in politics. But I tell you, he does see it, and he will bless or curse this nation, according to the course they take. END

      Last week, Jim Larson, Leader of the Christian TEA Party in Reno, on the east edge of Paris, used historical quotes to show how important  being a Christian was historically in Politics and as a witness in court…

As you read these Statements, please note that in the days of the Colonies and the early church time that it was required of each person to be a Christian.

Justice Joseph Story:   “Infidels and pagans were banished from the hall of justice as unworthy of credit.” 

A court rejected a witness who declared his disbelief in the existence of God.  The presiding judge remarked that he had not before been aware that there was a man living who did not believe in the existence of God; that this belief constituted the sanction of all testimony in a court of justice: and that he knew of no cause in a Christian country where a witness had been permitted to testify thout such a belief.

Delaware Constitution:  Elected officials must sign:  “I,_____________, do profess faith in God the Father, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, and the Holy Ghost, one God, blessed for evermore; and I do acknowledge the holy scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be given by divine inspiration.”

Massachusetts Constitution:  “Any person chosen governor, or lieutenant-governor, counselor, senator, or representative, and accepting the trust, shall before he proceed to execute the duties of his place or office, take, make and subscribe the following declaration, “I______________, do declare, that I believe the Christian religion, and have a firm persuasion of its truth.”

 Northwest Ordinance, Article III:  “Religion, morality, and knowledge, being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged.”

Thomas Jefferson:  “Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure if we have lost the only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God?  That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?”

Supreme Court:  “No free government now exists in the world unless where Christianity is acknowledged and is the religion of the country…..Its foundations are broad and strong and deep….it is the purest system of morality, the firmest auxiliary, and only stable support of all human laws.”

I believe that the Congress should be composed of BORN AGAIN BELIEVERS. I believe  that THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH meant for the State to stay out of God’s business. Remember in  history the Church was controlled by the State. The Clergy was paid by a tobacco Tax.

We are in a fight today for our First Amendment Rights. We are close to having a Government controlled Church. I feel that there are some good men for us to vote for. Ralph Hall, our District 4 U. S House Hose of Representative has said he will fight for, we the people. Ralph said, “Our country owes a debt of gratitude to the TEA Party patriots who serve as a megaphone to the frustrations of all Americans”. He said that the passion for Liberty and freedom of the TEA parties are an encouragement to him. Ralph will fight for and represent WE THE PEOPLE well. Another friend of mine  is Erwin Cain. Erwin is our candidate for the Texas House of Representatives, Texas District 3. Erwin lives in Hopkins County and will be a Fiscal Conservative in Austin and he will represent us well. Another friend in Bowie County, George Lavender,  who is a candidate for the Texas House of Representatives. He is a member of the Bowie County Patriots, and as a  Christian Conservative who is a Fiscal Conservative also, He will do a good in Austin. For Senator in our area I like Dr. Bob Deuell for Texas State Senate  because I know that he will  represent WE THE PEOPLE. I really like our Attorney General Greg Abbott because he is  not afraid of the Washington socialist liberals.
